Entrepreneurship education provides learners with experiences that accelerate the need for students to accept greater responsibility to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes that will contribute to their future success. The entrepreneurial process encourages a strong connection between theory and action. In our course students will work in groups and individually to develop and create a business plan with the end goal of showcasing this new business.
Learning partnerships fostered through this curriculum will help students realize the potential of entrepreneurship as a rewarding career option. Strong community-links and authentic learning opportunities will provide the catalyst for students to apply their knowledge, abilities and past experiences beyond the walls of the classroom. Guest speakers from local businesses will highlight the needs and opportunities that exist. It is anticipated that students will develop an increased ability to pursue their personal dreams and ambitions within an entrepreneurial context.
